The Course is sanctioned by the Department of Education and Science and covers all aspects of the SCG and OCG examinations. Qualified experienced teachers will provide sample essay material while also emphasising the production of unique material. Particular importance will be placed on style, in terms of prose and poetry answers.
A scrúdú cainte examination will be offered to each course participant, with subsequent feedback and analysis. Time will also be devoted to methodologies in a theoretical fashion and in a practical manner.

The college accepts that indiviudals may have passed the SCG and OCG examinations, but have yet to complete the required time in the Gaeltacht. Numbers permitting, a course with emphasis on teaching methodologies, resourses and alternative content will be provided.

- The deposed of fees is forwarded with the application.
- The balance of fees is due at the outset of the course.
- The price includes all tuition, notes, accommodation and meals, and organised college activities.

Coláiste Sheosaimh was one of the first Colaistí Gaeilge sa tír. Its history and tradition compare with the best. It is located 60km west of Galway city beside a calm inlet of Galway bay. The area is serviced by a thriving lcoal community. Cill Chiaráin is an area renowned not only for its Gaeilge but also for its wealth of folklore and friendliness.
What the College offers?
Táimid brodúil as ár gColáiste Gaeilge. Every effort is made to ensure that Irish is developed in a normal and relaxed atmosphere. Morning classes are beneficial for written, oral and aural examinations. Special emphasis is placed on integrating the oral and aural work throughout the course. Afternoon and evening sessions will encourage participants to involve themselves in activities that are sport, music, information technology and art based. Learning will occur through encouragement, total immerision and involvement. Teachers on the course are familiar with the SCG and OCG examinations and syllabus content.
Imeachtaí Iarnóna agus Oíche
Activities will include games, art and craft workshops and dance lessons both modern and traditional. The activities will be structured in a manner so that the content will be adaptable to primary schools settings. Istoíche beidh éagsúlacht ceoil agus amhránaíochta ar fáil. Beidh imeachtaí sóisialta sa cheantar máguaird.
As well as reaching college standards each house is sanctioned by Roinn na Gaeltachta. Cinntíonn gach bean an tí fáilte Uí Cheallaigh agus cuirtear bricfeasta, dinnéar, tae agus suipéar ar fáil.
The college endeavours to provide a high quality course that will give participants every opportunity to improve and practice their Gaeilge in preparation for the SCG and OCG. In return high standards of effort and cooperation are required. Beidh an teastas tinrimh ag breath ar rannpháirtíocht chuimsitheach, ar chomhoibriú sásúil agus ar sháriarracht i labhairt na Gaeilge. Reachtálfar cúrsa eile níos faide anonn sa bhliain. A follow up course to help fulfil Departmental requirments will be held later in the year.
